January Love with Food

I got my Love with Food box on the 10th! Right on time, as they said, mine would ship on the 10th! Oh well, I'm glad I got it so fast. Minutes after I got it, I received the tracking number(lol!). This is my second box and I always love the fact that I'm the first one to get to it because then I can eat all the chocolates!!!

The theme for this month's box was International Foods! I always love the cute little cards they send out.

Seems like there are enough snacks for everybody in there :D

Tasty goodies! And those chocolates have my name on them!

Turbana - Natural Plantain Chips: I grew up in a country where there are bananas of all kinds everywhere...So plantain chips are nothing special for me, that and the kind I like are sweet ones. If this was new for someone, I guess they would've been excited. I don't hate it, but I just gave it to the bf's parents because they love plantain chips! I always bring them some when I come back to NY from CR. They seemed to really like them, specially because they don't have a lot of salt!

Almond Anise Biscotti from Biscotti di Suzy:  I'm not a fan of anise and I do love Biscotti so, it was sad that this one had anise, but that's fine because that means I can share ^^. The bf's mom tried it out and loved it!

Cinnamon Milk Chocolate and Belgian Biscuit Dark Chocolate from New Tree: These 2 were the first things do die at the hands of a giant! Sadly they were tiny! My opinion might be biased here, since I'm a lover of dark chocolate! They were both tasty though, but the dark chocolate one was way better! It wasn't too sweet and the crunchiness added by the speculoos (belgian cookie) was great. I love different textures in my food, specially in sweets! The cinnamon one was an interesting thing to try out. I never tried chocolate with cinnamon before. I liked it, it won't be my new favorite, but it's good!

Firecracker ChocoPod by Chuao Chocolatier: This was a surprise! I never had a chocolate that pops like Pop Rocks! This also had chipotle, it was really interesting to try out. I never had "spicy" chocolate and I must admit I loved it! I will try to buy some of these at some point since the bf wants to try them out too. I ate the whole thing and didn't share *evil laugh*. I loved this chocolate so much and it's by far my favorite thing out of this month's box!

Tiger Spice Chai from David Rio: I just had this today with breakfast! I loved it! The bf said it taste like gingerbread cookies, but it didn't to me, it was more like a cinnamon flavor. Either way, whatever it was, was really good! I won't repurchase because I don't need a special tea everyday, green and black do. But it was a nice change.

Gluten-Free Shortbread Tea Cookies from Kyotofu: Well, this was an experience! The bf described the taste as fish food meets fortune cookie! I hated these with a passion! I thought the bf would appreciate them because he's crazy about anything Japan related, but I don't think he liked them that much either! After eating them I was suffering because I still had that horrible taste in my mouth! Oh, the humanity! I hated these, but that's just me, some girls over at Make Up Talk forums seemed to like them.

AppleStrawberry Applesauce from GoGo squeeZ: I shared this after breakfast with the bf and it's quite good! The first flavor that hits you is banana, then again banana is a really strong flavor, then I could feel a bit of apple and strawberry, but not super defined. I love the idea of this product, not a fan of the packaging though. It's not reusable and really contaminating. It actually is really tasty though and only 60 calories. My idea to avoid the waste caused by the containers, would be to make a fruit puree at home with the same ingredients and eat that as a snack! I love Gerber at 21 years old. I LOVE GERBER! Specially apricot, but don't think you can find that around anymore, so I really don't mind eating a fruit puree like a baby!

Overall Review:

I really enjoyed this month's box and it met the purpose of introducing me to new products I wouldn't have tried otherwise! Even if the plantains where not new to me, I bet they were new to a lot of subscribers! I really am liking this subscription and I definitely recommend it. I can't keep it after my promo is done because I'd rather get make up than chocolates, but it's still great.
