Wet n Wild Color Icon Trios review + swatches

I picked up several Wet n Wild eye shadow palettes some weeks ago(featured in this post) to try them out. Since I've heard so many awesome reviews about Wet n Wild I've decided to try it as well. I've known the Wet n Wild brand for a long time, but didn't know they were actually making good quality products now, so I knew I had to try that out.  (Swatches taken with natural light, palette pictures taken with a flash).

Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio: I'm Getting Sunburned

All 3 colors in this trio are super pretty! The brow bone one is a really cute metallic pink/mauve color. The crease one looks brown but is a really dark brown, it's almost black when applied. I could almost say it's iridescent and looks black at one angle and brown when the light hits it. The eyelid color is a super cute and shimmery bronze. All of these colors are super pigmented and not chalky at all. Their crease color has a bit of fall out and the eyelid one has a tiny bit too, but it's really little.

Amazing trio! I really recommend this for a daily look kinda trio. You can use the brow bone color on your lid and the eye lid one on your crease for a morning look to go to work or something and then maybe add up the crease color later on to go out at night!

None of these colors are too bold and I think most people would be comfortable wearing them. I also think the colors would work with any eye color. I know they work for brown eyes for sure...duh my eyes are brown!

I Dream of Greenie

The brow bone color is a really light and soft metallic green. At times it even looks silver when you look at it from certain angle. It can be a bit chalky, it can have some fall out, but not a lot. It's not extremely pigmented, but it's easily built up.

The crease color is a shimmery green with a bit of blue, it looks turquoise in the swatch, but it's actually a little bit warmer.  This color does have some fall out, it's pigmented, but not a lot, but easily built up too.
The eyelid color is a pretty lime green with a bit of glitter. This one is a bit sheer, but same as the others - easy to built up. It does also have some fall out and it's a little bit chalky.

In spite of fall out of chalkiness, I still think this is a great trio. Maybr not so much for a daily look, unless you like bold colors for daily looks, which I actually do, but it might not be "work place friendly".

Silent Treatment

This brow bone color is a pretty shimmery peach. It's not super pigmented, but can be built up. It's a little chalky and has a bit of fall out, but it's like with cute doggies, it's so cute we forgive it for anything! This one is great not only for highlighting the brow bone, but also to brighten up the inner corner of the eye for a more awake and bright look.

The crease color is a black or extremely dark brown with glitter. It's chalky, not to pigmented and not too easy to build up. I'm actually not a fan of this color for that reason. I guess it's easier to have a not so pigmented dark color because it would be more forgiving if you make a mistake, and would work better as  a crease color.

The eyelid color is a gorgeous shimmery taupe, really pigmented for this shade, so it's not hard for the actual color to show. It has a little of fall out and it's not too chalky.

Same as with I'm Getting Sunburned, this one would work amazingly for a daily palette - use the brow bone and eyelid colors for a soft work safe look and add the crease one for a night out. This trio I think is super friendly with any skin color and would be in most people's comfort zone.

Overall review:

In spite of the fact that most of these shades have some fall out, I still think they are worth every penny, which is actually not a lot at $2.99. They can be compared to the high end products in how pretty the colors are and how pigmented most of these are. I think this is great if you don't have a lot of money in your budget, you want to save some money or you simply want to try these out. I really recommend picking at least one of these up. I know you'd be happy with what you get. I think the fall out they have is something we all can live with(even Urban Decay eye shadows have fall out...), nothing that just tapping your brush against the palette won't fix. I'm super glad I picked these up and gave Wet n Wild another chance. I'm really surprised with the quality of their products and if you don't believe me, try them out yourself, I think you won't be disappointed.  Oh! I almost forgot, you can pick these up at Walgreens, Rite Aid and even at Walmart.

Hope you liked this review and tell me which is your favorite Wet n Wild product?

My awesome xmas presents!

This year I decided to spend the holidays away from home and with the bf, so I didn't get a whole bunch of presents, but I did get some pretty awesome stuff.

The present from the bf was picked by me and I did my best to forget what I ordered from...yes, you guessed right, Sephora!

I think I've said this before, but when I buy make up, I really like picking up value sets, because you get more "bang for your buck" and get to try more products!
I grabbed 3 value sets and some other things.

Benefit - Coral My World: I'm a sucker for packaging and this little box has polka dots even on the inside!!

I already know I love Benefit products and I have a mini Sun Beam. This one is still not full size, it's a deluxe sample size, but it's super cute!!(Review on Sun Beam can be found here). Also, I really wanted to try Coralista, cuz everybody raves about it! I love Bella Bamba, but I want to try this one too!

Too Faced - Beauty Editor Darlings: I haven't really tried Too Faced products, and I've heard for ages that their eye shadow primer is really good, so I wanted to give it a try. This kit is supposed to have the Too Faced products I have been wanting to try for a while! Can't wait to try them out.

This kit comes with:
(This kit is currently sold out at Sephora, but you can pick it up at Dermstore)

bareMinerals -  Cool As Ice: This is a set of 6 Marvelous Moxie lipglosses. I got one of these lipglosses in Daredevil from Ipsy's November bag (post here), and I really liked them. I decided to chose this for my present and all the colors in this set are super cute!

I really couldn't care less if this product plumps my lips or not. It's suppossed to and that's why it has a minty cool sensation of which sometimes I can get tired of, but I get used to it after a while. (This kit is sold out at Sephora and Ulta, but you can find it in the bareMinerals website, QVC and SkinStore)

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Dashiki: I love love love Urban Decay and I really wanted a full size eye shadow from them. This one, is not a color I would wear daily, but it's still a really pretty color.

Even without checking the price, I still remember they had this eye shadow for $6. I just couldn't resist getting an Urban Decay eye shadow for that cheap, I had to have it. (This is out of stock on both Sephora and the Urban Decay website *sad face*)

Tokidoki - Perfetto Eyeliner in Donutella: I guess everybody knows Tokidoki is being discontinued and all the items are for sale on Sephora(what ever is left). I picked this eyeliner up, out of all the ones they had I thought it was the cutest, can't wait to try it.

Also when I was picking this stuff up, they still had the It Kits, I think I got The Lasting Impression It Kit. It came with

Also I got a duo of philosophy's Purity and The Micro Delivery from the bf's mom. This was like it fell from heaven! I was desperately needing a cleanser and I love Purity because it removes even mascara without irritating my eyes, and it doesn't dry out my skin. The Micro Delivery is an amazing product too.

I guess I had really good present karma this year, the bf got a vintage video game for his Sega Genesis called Bubsy, that a friend recommended. I couldn't get presents for anybody else because...I gots no moneys!! Most things I post here that I bought...well the bf bought them, since I am what I will call a stay at home gf!

Disclaimer: I didn't pay for any of this, it was given to me for Xmas because I'm so awesome!!! My opinion is personal and I'm not getting anything for spreading it like I spread some tasty Nutella on a toast!

NOTD: December 26th

In spite of the fact that I changed my nail color three times this week, I'm still wearing this one and it looks pretty good!

Wearing 2 coats of Zoya - Storm! Such a cute color, this is my first(and sadly only) Zoya nail polish and I love it! I dries fast, it's not too sheer and it wears amazing!! I'm so happy!

FOTD: December 27th

I know this might be late, but I got caught up writing other posts and adding all over Facebook(I have ADD maybe...a little bit...is that a bug on my window?...see what I tell you? )

Yes, I did the super tacky thing of tacking a picture in the bathroom, but, that's because that bathroom is the only room in this house that has decent lighting.

Now what I'm wearing:

I wanted to go with a look that didn't require the use of a lot of brushes, cuz I washed my brushes yesterday and they're not all completely dry just yet. I decided to use bareMinerals foundation today instead of liquid foundation.
A lot of people complain about Chachatint leaving dots on the face, thats cuz the product is really pigmented and dries really fast. My trick for this is to apply it directly on my fingers and then to my face by gently tapping my fingertips on my cheeks, followed by blending with fingers after. This helps avoid dots on the face.
I was really lazy today and didnt want to create a really elaborate eye look. This is why I went for a pigmented eye shadow primer. After realizing I was using a lot of bareMinerals products I decided to use more and make it into a mostly bareMinerals look, with a few exceptions, of course.

I don't know if you can appreciate the eye shadow cuz the camera really washed out the colors. I will do my best to work on this and get this damn camera to show the color better next time!

  Hope you liked this :)

Disclaimer: I purchased this with my own money, and this is my own personal opinion :)

Influenster Holiday Vox Box(review)

First, let me start of by explaining what Influenster is, in case you haven't heard about it. What better to describe what Influenster is than Influenster themselfs.

...Influenster is a free-to-join community of invited trendsetters who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster creates links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products....Basically, Influenster is a place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products and experiences. Active members of Influenster get exclusive access to deals, promotions, and swag from brands that thrive off the input (the good, the bad, and the ugly -- they just want to know what's up)...

Taken from Influenster's website.

So, basically Influenster is a website where you review products that you use in your daily life. You take surveys to show what your interests are(gaming, shopping, style...). To be a member, you have to have an active social life on and offline, or at least it helps to do so, because that way your opinion is heard and you influence other people, which is the point of Influenster.

In the Influenster community, you can earn and unlock badges that prove your influence in different topics by filling out surveys, posting reviews and engaging in other social media. Based on these badges you can either get discounts or you may also be invited to try out new products. These products are related to your interests and lifestyle.

Now that I covered what Influenster is, a Vox Box is those products that Influenster can send to you for free, for you to try out and review.

Before this Holiday Vox Box, I got a dish soap Vox Box. Sadly, I didn't review it here, because I had so many posts to go through and I thought it wasn't really related to the topics I cover in this blog. Then again, I can post random things sometimes, right?

Yay! I got so excited when I found out I would be getting this box!

I got so much stuff!

Goody - QuickStyle Paddle Brush: I've been using Goody brushes for years and I was so glad I got a paddle brush, because I don't really like any other kind of brush. This brush is supposed to help your hair dry faster and detangle wet hair. The blue things you see in the picture are micro fiber bristles which are the ones that help the hair dry faster. I really hate blow-drying my hair, not only because it's bad for it and time consuming, but because it ends up being so poofy after I'm done. I'll take any help to speed up the hair drying process. I can tell this definitely helped drying my hair, I won't lie and say it was a HUGE difference, but I could tell a difference. It doesn't dry instantly, but it helps and I'll take anything that helps. One good thing also is that this brush is really big and brushes through a bunch of my hair all at once. It's really gentle with my hair and if I brush it with care(not with hate haha) it doesn't break it. I will keep on using this brush after I wash my hair and I can definitely recommend it if you want to speed up the drying process a little bit. This brush goes for $11.99.

Eboost: This powder drink helps boost your immune system, mood and focus, with natural ingredients. I can say it did help me wake up a bit, but here's the downside: I hated the taste; it was torture to drink it! Torture I say!! I guess I would have to try other flavors to know more. This one was Pink Lemonade probably the others won't taste as bad. It's not really that it tastes bad, I just don't like it. Eboost sells  these for $28 for a box of 20 powder packs, $39 for 30 and $39 for a box of 12 shots.

Sole Society $25 off: Sadly I won't be able to use this, but would've loved to. Sole Society has really cute shoes and I would love to grab some, but I've done lots of spending these last couple of months so I can't afford to pick this up. If anybody wants to grab the code I have, just email me or comment below and I will be more than glad to give you the code.

Kiss Nail Dress: I loved the idea of this and it does last, the only thing I did not like was the pattern on it. It's definitely not my type of thing, but if you don't have lots of time to do your mani this is definitely an option and it will last! Taking it off is a pain! So you can tell the glue is really good. This goes for $6.99.

Here's a little demonstration on how I applied it:

Place the product over your nail(not on the cuticles).

Bend the product down carefully so there are no bubbles.

Buff the edge of your nail.

And done! Haha first non messy mani for me, but then again I don't like these colors or this pattern at all.

Quaker - Real Medleys Oatmeal: I loved this! Almonds and peach are the things I totally love and I really like Oatmeal. I usually get heartburn from it, but this one didn't give me any heartburn. I loved the taste of this and the crunchiness the almonds added! This is so tasty and I might pick some up to keep at home for breakfast or for a quick snack! This is really affordable at $1.79 a cup.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City: This is a really nice lip gloss, it's sticky, but not too much and adds a really sheer amount of color. I love the fact that it's a nude shade cuz I really like nudes(and the bf seems to like them on me). I didn't really love the scent much, it's like a really sweet caramel scent, but it's way too sweet. I think this is a great product, specially for the price ($2.49) and think is worth trying it out, however if you are not too into sweet flavors/scents this might not be for you.

I'm really happy I was able to try out all of these products, and I love the price for them, haha freebies! I so hope I get to try more products through Influenster (more make up yay!) and I will definitely give you my honest review on anything I get. Please remember this is my personal opinion, and what I might not like or might not work for me, might work for you.

Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster, this is my personal opinion and I'm not being paid in any way shape or form to express it.

White Xmas!

I had an awesome White Xmas, I guess this was Mother Nature's present for all of us snow lovers for Xmas! I was super excited...the bf doesn't like snow so he was being a total grinch!

We spend the day at a friend's house(like my only friend here in NY) with his family, the bf's family doesn't celebrate Xmas. We ate some tasty ham, mashed potatoes, awesome green beans, squash and lots of different tasty pies!!!

So...how was your xmas? What did you get?

NOTD: December 23rd

First of all, I thought of starting a new post, with that I'm wearing on my nails: Nail Of The Day (thinking about a face of the day too, but maybe...I don't think y'all wanna see mah fugleh face everyday! XD ).

This one might be a bit late, but the holidays kept me busy and I'm sorry for being a bad blogger that didn't write post ahead!(I should be grounded!)

Wearing one coat of Julep's Barbara from the December Julep Box over two coats Revlon's Pink Lingerie.

e.l.f Mini Haul and Reviews

I've tried a couple of e.l.f products before, that I picked up at Target, but I wanted to try some more of their brushes and make up products. Not to mention, I had a bad experience earlier with a brush I bought. I went for the things that I've heard recommended the most.

When I bought this, they had a buy one-get one 50% off on everything, so I only ended up paying $20.28 after tax and shipping. Isn't that an amazing deal?

Studio Translucent Matifying Powder: I didn't really love this, I mean it does matify, that's for sure, but I did not like how this made my skin look. It made my skin look powdery, dry and lifeless. I'd much rather use Make Up For Ever HD Powder, which matifies without making me look dry. I rather regret buying this and I don't like it at all!

Studio HD Blush in Superstar: I loved this product so much, it's a steal at only $3. Careful when applying it cuz this is extremely pigmented and a little goes a long long way. This wears amazing through the day and you can either use just a little bit for a more natural look, or build it up for an awesome glow. This has to be one of my favorite blushes now, I love the staying power of this. Be careful when applying it cuz you might end up with a clown face. Apply a bit to the back of your hand and if it's not enough grab a bit more. Believe me when I'm telling you this...yes I ended up with a clown face on the first try. LOL! I definitely recommend this product and think it's worth every penny, also it will last you for like forever!

Studio HD Blush in Superstar - Swatch:

Maybe the picture doesn't show how little the amount I applied is, but it's around the same size of the loop at the end of a bobby pin.

And it spread to this much! As you can see a tiny little bit does go a long way, this is way more than what I would want on my cheeks, so I can't repeat myself enough, careful when applying it. It might take a bit of practice, but trust me, it's so worth it at the end!

Essential Eye Crease Brush: First off, I should start by saying this product is sold for $1, and for that price it did surprise me. This brush is OK at doing it's job of applying shadow to the crease of the eye, but it has shed a little bit. I guess that's understandable since, well it's a $1. In spite of the shedding, I do think this product is worth it if you are starting your collection and don't have a lot of money in your budget, or just want to save money. After all, I don't think this is a bad brush and I do recommend buying it. We can live with a bit of shedding right? It's not excessive, it's like one hair here and there, so in my humble opinion I think it's fine. At the end of the day, if you hate it, you're only out $1.

Studio Powder Brush: I bought this brush before at Target and it shed badly( as you can see here)! But I really wanted to try this brush, since they didn't want to exchange it at Target and just returned my money, I decided to buy it. I love it, the bristles are super soft and it hasn't shed one bit. I've already washed it two or three times and there is no shedding at all. I think the other one was just defective and I'm so glad I gave it another shot. I love this brush for buffing in liquid foundation. It's extremely gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't irritate me one bit. It applies foundation amazingly well and the bristles are SO well packed that it doesn't bend. This brush is great and I definitely recommend it, also at only $3 it has become one of my favorite brushes. This is worth every penny and even more. I can't emphasize how happy I am with this brush enough.

Studio Stipple Brush: I don't really like this brush much for foundation, but I use it specifically with my HD blush. The bristles are super soft and not rough on skin at all. This brush hasn't shed one bit. I really wanted to pick up the Small Stipple Brush, but it was out of stock, I've heard that one is great too. One thing I would really like is if this brush had more bristles, but either way it's an awesome brush and at $3 it's a steal. Great for liquid products to get that airbrushed look. I recommend this brush for sure!

Essentials Eyeshadow Brush: Another $1 product, and I guess you get what you pay for. This brush is OK, it sheds a lot. I've ended up with bristles on my eye lids after using it, which is not something I'm fond of at all. This brush is OK for applying eyeshadow to your eyelids. I really wish this brush had more bristles than it does, cuz I'm used to eyeshadow brushes having more bristles than this. This is an OK brush to start your collection off with and if you don't like it you are not really loosing a lot of money on it. I don't really recommend this one as much, but the next brush is amazing!

Studio Eyeshadow "C" Brush: THIS BRUSH! This is my new go to for applying eyeshadow. This brush is super soft, the bristles are really well packed, it hasn't shed one bit for me and it applies eyeshadow like a boss!! I love it so much. I definitely recommend this amazing brush and at only $3 it is more than worth every penny. Amazing brush if you have a low budget for make up. You are gonna be as happy as I am with it. You are spending $2 more than the Essentials Brush(previous one), but it's definitely worth it.

Final Thoughts:

I'm really happy with all my purchases, everybody that I asked or read reviews from about e.l.f products recommended the Studio line(black brushes) over the Essentials line(white brushes). Now I understand why they did this. I have my own personal opinion now and I cannot agree more with, well, everybody else. The Studio line is much better than the Essentials and the difference in price is only $2 which I think is worth the bit of extra money. If you are thinking of picking up e.l.f brushes, go with the Studio line for sure and you won't be disappointed.
If you want to try e.l.f, I say go for it. It's definitely a hit or miss company, but their hits are major hits(haha!) and with their misses you are not out by a lot of money.

Hope you enjoyed this mini haul & reviews and they come useful if you are looking for any of these products.

Have you tried e.l.f products? Which is your favorite?

Disclaimer: I purchased this with my own money, and this is my own personal opinion :)
