January Starlooks Starbox(swatches+review)

You might think this is a bit late, keep in mind however, I'm not subscribed to Starlooks. I won this box in a contest from Makeup Talk. Winning was a really unexpected surprise. I'm the kind of person that says: "I never win anything". Because for the longest time, that has been a case.

Isn't the box so cute?

My mom always taught me to be grateful for what I have and I am. I have an  amazing boyfriend, a somewhat drama free life, great friends and an awesome doggie! So, I am grateful, BUT I still never win anything, I don't whine about it, it's just a fact. I always join giveaways on FB and YT and what not. I don't think I'm going to win, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

So, I joined this contest expecting nothing. At first, there were going to be 20 winners, but Starlooks felt generous and changed that to 100. I was so excited when I was notified I was a winner! I've been wanting to try Starlooks for a while, because it really isn't that expensive, with shipping it comes out to $16 and some change. The monthly box includes 3-4 full size makeup/beauty related products.

Now, all the products are from their brand(Starlooks), but that does not mean they are bad, au contraire mon frère, the quality is really good. It's high end make up quality. So, $16ish for even 3 items is worth it. A high end-ish eyeliner is worth around $16, an eyeliner! This subscription is definitely worth it.

After I said all of this, you can clearly tell I would love this sub. Why I'm I not subscribed? Really simple, this is not because the subscription is bad or it doesn't appeal me, it does. I just don't want to hoard, I have enough makeup, I have everything I need when it comes to makeup, so I just don't want to pile on things that I won't use completely and might end up tossing.

Look at all those goodies!

They were not lying when they said the products are all full size!

Beaded Bracelet by Abby Rose Designs: $15. This is a really cute, color of the year bracelet! It's not my style, but it's really cute.

858 Soft Small Dome Fluff Brush: $15. I'm loving this brush to apply eye shadow, it's really soft and it works great. It shed one hair so far, which is not bad. Also, it's thin enough so you can  smudge liner or eye shadow on your lower lash line, but not thin enough not to be able to pack eye shadow onto your eyelid. So far, I've seen myself reach for this brush more than to my ELF Eyeshadow "C" Brush, which is my favorite brush to apply eye shadow with. I'm loving this, seriously, so glad I got it and if I would've bought this box, this basically pays for the whole thing.

Diamondline Eye Pencil in Fancy: $8. This is a really pretty metallic and glittery green. It's super creamy and pigmented. It works great on your lower & upper lash lines, on your water line and it even can be used as an eye shadow or eye shadow base! It doesn't move an inch on the lower line, which is where I've worn it so far. I wore it all day long yesterday and when I got to remove my makeup late at night, it was still where I applied it! Really easy to work with and really pretty, I love it!

Eye Pencil in Brown: $8. Creamy and really pigmented eyeliner. Can be used on the lower and upper lash lines and on the waterline. You could even use it to define your eye brows, but it might be a bit too creamy for that.

Blush in C121 Cuty Peach:  $12. Really cute peachy pink blush! It wears great throughout the day and it's super pigmented. Absolutely gorgeous! Loving this blush.

Value and overall review:

The value of my box is: $58! Considering each box is about $16, that's great value!

I definitely recommend Starlooks makeup AND Starlooks' Starbox. I'm not subscribed, because right now I don't want to get more makeup than what I need. However, I do plan to subscribe eventually, or at least get a couple of boxes.

I haven't had an opportunity to deal with their customer service at all, because I'm not an actual customer, I won this box. But, I've heard wonders about it.

If you want to get previous boxes, they have the option to buy them at $25.

Also, if you don't want the whole box, you can buy the products featured in the boxes on their website.

I think this is a great subscription, 'specially if you're building your makeup collection, it's a great price and sends you full size quality products!!

I'm happy with what I got and of course that's easy to say for me, since I got this for free, but still even if I would've paid, I know I would still love it!

If you want to subscribe to Starlooks, you can click here. Or copy and past this link onto your navigation bar: http://starlooks.com/

Disclaimer: I won this box in a contest, and this is my own personal opinion :) I'm not getting anything for giving a positive or negative review.

  1. Hey ! I found your link through the Brightside Blog Hop and I am now following you with Google Friend Connect :) I have never heard of Starlooks before. Just when I thought I've heard about every beauty box subscription there is another one I have missed (or a new one that's just been launched). This box looks pretty sweet but, like you, I just absolutely cannot hoard any more makeup. I have enough.

    Congrats on your win!

    1. Awesome, following you back! Haha I know I find new ones constantly, but most of the time they are not good enough for me to sub or too expensive! Yup I just don't want something I like to become an issue ^^. Thank you :)

  3. I haven't heard of Starlooks before, but it's so cute! How nice that it came with a brush, and the blush is a pretty color. I like the eyeliner, but brown eyeliner never shows up on me haha.

I really like your blog. I'm your newest follower...come check out my blog?
