Weekend Haul March 8th & 9th

I definitely needed to stock up on some "essentials" over the weekend, also I was hunting down the new limited edition Wet n Wild 8 pan palettes. My search was just a huge waste of time, but I did buy a couple of things besides that, so I'm happy.

We also had to run some errands and pick up stuff at our local asian store, of course we came out with bags full of candy and sweets!!

Meiji - Hello Panda: LOVE these things, they are insanely delicious! They are chocolate filled cookies, I adore them! Not too sweet and just delicious! They have different flavors, but this one is my favorite.

Hi-Chew - Fruit Chews: First time trying this out for me, they are delicious and not sticky at all(bf editing: they have a nice texture). I hate those chewy candies that stick to your teeth, these don't do that and are super tasty!

Kasugai - Melon Gummy Candy: Delicious gummies, these definitely taste artificial, but they are not too sweet and are super juicy!

Marukawa - Melon Gum: Really tasty melon gum, not too sweet, sadly the flavor fades away super fast!

After stopping by the asian store, we rushed our way through a local Christmas Tree Shops, because I know they carry Wet n Wild there, I couldn't find what I was looking for, but picked up a few goodies.

I had no idea they carried Real Techniques brushes! I was planning on ordering some from Ulta, but I'm glad to have found them here, that way, I don't have to pay for shipping!( I hate paying for shipping!)

Neutrogena - Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover: I'm about to run out of my Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover, so I picked this one up. I have no problems with non oil-free makeup removers, but I picked this one up, because I also picked some new lashes up and I need to clean them with Oil-free eye makeup remover.

Ardell - Demi Wispies Fashion Lashes and Brush-On Lash Adhesive: I have a set of falsies from ELF, but the glue sucks! So, I decided to try out the Demi Wispies, because everyone raves about them and pick up some glue too!

Almay - Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks:I picked these up not long ago, you can read about it in this Drugstore haul post. It seems like I'm really prone to screw ups and I already ran out of these! I quite like them, they come in super handy when I mess up, they don't irritate my eyes one bit and they remove make up amazingly well!

Real Techniques - Blush Brush and Lash-Brow Groomer: I broke my Lash/Brow Groomer, so I needed a new one. When picking up one of these- I recommend the ones with metallic precision comb, because the plastic one is a bit prone to breaking. I picked up the Blush Brush to try it out, will let you know what I think later on.

ELF - Small Precision and Contour brushes: My favorite crease brush is falling apart, so I picked the Contour one to use it for my crease. I wanted to try the Precision one to try it out, because it looks tiny and perfect to line the lower lash line with some eyeshadow for a pop of color!

Eco Tools - Buffing Brush: I've seen lots of people raving about this brush and I've been looking for it everywhere! Who would've thunk I'd find it at Christmas Tree Shops!?

After cruising around several stores during my hunt for the Wet n Wild palettes, we had to pick some stuff at Walmart, so of course I walked out of there with some more stuff!!

Goody - Ouchless Ribbon Headwraps: I've been loving the princess wrap hairdo lately, so I got a few more headbands, just in case I lose mine.

Goody - Stay Tight Bobbies: 90 count, because we all know how bobby pins love to get lost! And well I only had 4 left!

Goody - Toni Barrettes: I've had these twice already and have none left! I just seem to lose hair accessories way too easy!

Hard Candy - Nail Polish in 633 Little Hottie and 631 Little Bo Pink: Saw some swatches of these around the interwebs and loved them, so I had to have them!

BonBons - Dark Pink Nail Polish: I bought this because it reminds me of my teens and it's just so cute!

Before you freak! No they don't sell OPI at Walmart, there's a beauty salon at my local Walmart and they had BOGO 50% off on OPI, so I had to have some, because I don't have enough, right?! LOL!

OPI - Polka.Com: I LOVE Polka dots, so I had to have this!

OPI - The Impossible: I already have Can't Let Go, but this one is just SO adorable!

So that's it, that's my small weekend haul, as I said, just a few essentials! I hope you liked this post :)

Wet n Wild Color Icon Petal Plusher Review + Swatches

I bought several Wet n Wild palettes a while ago. You can read about the haul here. I reviewed all the trios here, but I haven't reviewed the 8 pan palettes, so I will start a series of posts in which I will review them. I only got 3 of them(hoping to get the new Limited Edition ones soon!) so it will be split in 3 posts.

Starting up with Petal Plusher, which could be the only one I might be biased about, because of the purples and pinks. However, if a makeup item is purple, the way it performs will matter so much more to me, because it's my favorite color. Basically, I'm harder on purples!!

First picture taken with natural light, second with flash.

Left column:

Brow bone color: This one is extremely powdery and it makes it really hard for the color to show up, actually not just really hard, it just doesn't happen. However, when I swatch it on my finger I can see there's some opalescent effect to it. It's a shame that the opalescent effect doesn't show and that the color itself doesn't show, otherwise it would be super pretty. So much fall out, it's crazy.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Petal Plusher swatchEyelid: This color is a bit shimmery, really pretty, it's a mauve pink. As usual, there's fall out, but not as much as with the brow bone one. It's hard to get it to show up, but it's definitely buildable and when some color is achieved, it's a really pretty color, that I actually don't have in any other palette. It's really sweet, pretty and girly.

Crease: Such a pretty shimmery purple, of course this one, being a darker color- shows up much more and it's definitely buildable. As usual, there is some fall out. I keep saying that most of them have fall out, but it's a thing with Wet n Wild. But they are pretty, so I forgive them, most of the time...

Definer: Such a blue purple, gorgeous color, great for the crease, shimmery too, pigmented and definitely buildable.

Right column:

Brow bone color: This is like a platinum/silver pink, really pigmented, buildable and pretty. This would work great as a brow highlight, so brow bone is the place to wear it, also inner eye corner. Then again, you can wear all of these colors wherever you want, it's up to you and the look you want to get. Don't stick to the areas they recommend to wear them, spice it up! Try this as a crease! haha!

Eyelid : This is such a pretty pink brown, really pigmented and buildable. You could make a look with the brow bone color from this column, the eyelid color from the Left column and this as a crease color and make it really work appropriate, sweet and feminine.

Crease: This is a super super dark glittery brown, really pigmented and buildable. Careful when working with it, because a little bit, will show up A LOT! This color would be perfect for a fun, night out brown smoky eye.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Petal Plusher swatch
Define: Gorgeous glittery black! Perfect for a sexy smoky eye! Same as the crease color, super pigmented and not forgiving, so as I said before careful when using it, because if you are not going for super dramatic, that's what you will get.

Overall this is a great palette, really fun to work with. Some colors might give you a headache, others might be dangerous to work with and others fun and user friendly. In spite of the lack of pigmentation from some colors, I still like working with this palette. The colors are bright and might not be the right fit for someone that doesn't venture much into color, however you can still pull off at least a couple of non dramatic, work friendly looks. And if you are looking for drama you can get that too for sure!!

I love Wet n Wild, because it puts good products, into hands that might not be able to afford the most expensive makeup out there. Even if you are not really lucky with money at the moment or have other priorities that take your money, you still deserve to look pretty and wear makeup, so I appreciate all the companies that produce quality products for a lower price, that can be available to those that have more important things to take care of than makeup.

I definitely recommend picking this palette up if you want to have some fun with color. If you are looking for a more neutral look, I would advice to go with a neutral trio, so you don't spend extra money in shades you might not use.

Hope you enjoyed this little review! More coming soon!

Drugstore haul Feb 23rd (and some reviews)

I had to pick a few things up at the drugstore. Not only that, but the bf and I were on the hunt for a moisturizer to help with his black heads. We were looking for Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Hydrating Acne Treatment, which has been discontinued by Neutrogena and we were hoping a local drugstore would have it.

Sadly our quest was an epic fail, because we couldn't find it anywhere, so sad. It's like the world wants my bf to keep his black heads...Universe? Why do you hate on the bf? He's nice...most of the time! Ha-ha.

Anyways, thought I'd tell you the end of our sad story and tell you we failed looking for this stuff. I think if we were pirates...we would never find any treasure lmao(how lame did that sound?).

First stop: Walgreens:

I went to Walgreens because I had a coupon for $0.99 off of a Sinful Colors polish. I wanted to pick one up and of course because of the "main quest" mentioned above. While there, one of the girls that works there, told me they had some clearance products in the back of some aisle(bf editing: end cap of aisle sale)! Of course I had to check that out. They had a lot of polish, but mostly boring colors, so I didn't pick any  up.

Studio 35 - Premium Cotton Squares: I ran out of cotton rounds, so I decided to pick some up. I got these cotton squares, they are OK. I like them, they don't get destroyed the second the toner hits them, lol. And they are lint free, big plus when removing polish!

Nailtiques Formula 2: As I mentioned in this post, I have been using Nailtiques Formula 2 to make my nails stronger and it has worked! So I know I love it and mine is half gone. Might as well pick some up since it's regularly $9.99.

Nail Polish Remover Pads: I found these things for $.25, which is super cheap and thought they would be a good idea for emergencies. I don't like them for regular use, because they are oily and stain my nails, but I guess I could use them for an emergency or something. Just in case I might need to save the world by removing nail polish or something, you never know!

Sinful Colors - Hottie: This color caught my eye, it has holo glitter and it's just such a pretty blue! Had to have it!

Almay - Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks: Another "in case of emergency" product. I thought this would be great to have because I constantly screw up while doing my eye make up and it would be handy to have, just in case. Well, since I got this, I find myself reaching for them constantly! I love them, they are super effective, it's just too bad that the package has only 24, because I'm almost out. They became a must in my make up bag.

Neutrogena - Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Hydrating: These things! They allow the bf to be lazy and not wash his face before he goes to bed, seriously that's what we get them for. I use them sometimes, but mostly I just get one and clean his face when he's half asleep, because he's too lazy to wash his face and just wants to go to bed. I don't really need much of a make up remover, because my cleanser does the job pretty well( Purity by Philosophy). But these are nice for those nights where I just want to pass out in bed and not get up and wash my face. I know I shouldn't, but sometimes you're just so tired, you know? These towelettes are not only gentle and remove the make up, but they also moisturize a bit, which kills two birds with one stone for the bf(he doesn't really wear moisturizer or likes to).

Second stop: CVS:

I walk into CVS and the first thing I see, a table full of make up products on clearance that was definitely calling my name! I don't need any dupes or polishes that are one shade off the other one...(that's what the bf says, "they all look the same").  But that cute Essie caught my eye and it was only $2 and some change.

Revlon - Nail Polish in Enchanting(220): This guy was on my Revlon nail polish wish list and it was the one I wanted the most (except for Girly and Heavenly which I already had by then), so I HAD TO pick it up. It's so pretty, but I haven't used it yet.

Essie - We're in it Together: This polish is a gorgeous soft pink with shimmer, I love the shade, but it's really sheer. It took 3 coats, took forever to dry just for it to show opaque.

Wet n Wild - Teal of Fortune: I've been obsessed with mermaid shades lately, so I had to have this one for sure! It's a dupe of Zoya Charla, Spoiled Deeper Dive, OPI Catch Me In Your Net and probably others.

Third Stop: Target:

By this point I was super tired, I was in what the bf and I call "zombie mode". Zombie mode is when I wander around stores without a destination, with a blank mind just walking through aisles(bf editing: pretty accurate, i know).

I picked up a bottle of much needed Nail Polish Remover. I picked the Up & Up one to try out, I mean not like it really matters, it's just nail polish remover. I Also got  E.L.F Brush Shampoo, because I was about to run out of brush cleanser and wanted to try this one out. The bf got two bottles of Goo Gone...I don't know what he needs that for, but OK. We also got Strawberry and Chocolate Yan Yan, but by the time I took this picture the chocolate one mysteriously disappeared...into my belly! Also, I got a baggie of Big League Chew, because I didn't have that in a while(and by that I mean since I was a kid...like 5 minutes ago!lol). Oh and cupcake stickers, to sticker plaster my Nintendo DS.

Fourth stop: Walmart:

By this point I literally just wanted to get home! Like, yesterday!

The only thing I bought there, after finding out they didn't have that thing we were looking for, was brush guards. I don't have the originals, I bought something that is alike, so I wanted to try them out. I can totally tell the difference, these are much stiffer and have more material(?). You can tell they are much better quality, I will try to get more of them to just have these instead of the other stuff.

We did go to Rite Aid too, but their Makeup section is so big, it was more like an in and out. We checked if they had what we were looking for and since they didn't- we left. Otherwise I would've been there for over an hour and I was just too tired.

Hope you enjoyed this little haul with some reviews ^^.

What are your must have drugstore products?

NOTD: February 14th(Valentine's Day Look)

I was planning to upload this before Valentine's day, but well stuff happened. Nothing concerning me, but the bf and since we are attached at the hip it affects me LMAO.

I wanted to do something special I guess, not just one plain color.

I decided I would do an accent nail and some glitter over a cute pink.

This is the first version, 3 coats of Revlon Pink Lingerie, 1 coat of Revlon Heavenly, "heart" on the accent nail made with Wet n Wild Fergalicious. And of course Seche Vite as the top coat.

Close up:

The glitter kinda sunk in, which I thought was super weird. The bf was making fun of me saying it looked like cheese! LMAO! It did look a bit nasty. *sad face* This was my first time trying out Heavenly, I hope it doesn't do the same with other polishes!

The bf said I should do another heart, so this is the second version I guess:

I made the smaller heart with Nailitini Bloody Mary (from Ipsy's January bag).

 Close Up:

I like both. Which one do you like more? :)
