NOTD: January 20th

Ever since I got Turned Up Turquoise, I've been a bit obsessed with mermaid shades.

I got Urban Decay's Summer of Love, from a trade on MakeUpTalk.

I'm so in love with most of the colors, so you might be seeing them a lot soon!

This is 2 coats of Urban Decay-Aquarius. It's a bit more green than it looks like. Isn't it gorgeous? I love it!! I can't really link to an official website that sells this, however you could find this on amazon or ebay :)

NOTD: January 18th 2013

Absolutely love this color! I've been eying it for the longest time, but I got it until last week or so on a trade with a lovely lady from MakeUpTalk

This is one coat of Color Club's Status Update! One coat, can you believe it? I was so shocked, because I've never seen that with any nail polish! Sadly, it started chipping fast so I did another coat and a top coat!

NOTD: January 16th

I was wearing some other color on my nails and was actually enjoying it a lot, but I got this baby on my Ipsy bag and I just had to try it out!

Nailtini – Nail Lacquer in Bloody Mary. This is 2 coats before top coat. Isn't it so cute?

January Ipsy!(+review)

Waiting for this month's Ipsy was just torture! I was really excited when I finally got it. This month doesn't have as much make up as previous months, that is though, because a lot of us subbies complained about all the make up. Meaning- Ipsy listened to what we wanted!

First look at my really anticipated baggie!

How cute is that?!

This month's baggie looks simple on the outside, but super cute on the inside!! I love it.

All the goodies in my baggie :)

Josie Maran – 100%Pure Argan Oil: $4.8 for .17fl oz , full size is 1.7 fl oz and goes for $48. I was a bit hesitant to try an oil on my face, but this baby absorbed great. I applied it over my serum and it still worked amazing! I didn't wake up with my face feeling like an oil slick, it was just soft, glowing and feeling great! Could this be my new HG? Have I found the fountain of moisture??(That sounds weird lol!) I really love this thing and can't wait to see the results I will get after more uses! This doesn't have any scent at all, so no headaches for me, yay! A little goes a long way, I used 4 drops and that was enough to cover my whole face. I hope I don't become addicted to this, because that will mean I will have to buy it full size, oh well! I'm so glad I got to try this product this month and I thank Ipsy for this, I've been dying to try it for the longest time. Now I can die in peace!

Nailtini – Nail Lacquer in Bloody Mary: Full size $13. I wasn't super excited to get this...until I got it on my nails, then I loved it! 1 coat looked pretty pigmented enough, but 2 coats look much better. This baby dries super fast, it's been on my nails for 2 days now and I have no chipping. I didn't think I would like this as much as I do now, because I'm not the biggest fan of red nail polish, but I actually really like it!

Swatches:

Big Sexy Hair –Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray: 1.5oz/50ml $2.48, full size is 10.6 oz and goes for $17.50. I'm not big on hairspray, but I liked this one. It has a nice scent, that wasn't annoying to me, for once. It did help with volume for sure and held my hair without making it look plastic. I will definitely keep on using it.

Pacifica – Tuscan Blood Orange: 2.5 fl oz/73ml $5.57, full size is 8 fl oz/236ml and goes for $18. I loved this! The smells made my nose itchy for a bit, but it went away after a while. My skin absorbed this super fast and it just smells amazing! It's super citrusy and fresh. After being absorbed, this doesn't leave any greasy feeling on your skin. This is great to use as a hand cream, which is what I'll use it for.

Soho – Concealer Brush: Full size $5-$8. I already had this brush, so the one I got will stay packaged.

These are the 3 brushes you could get. I had all 3 of them already and I actually really like them. The liner one, even if it's not as thin as one would expect, works to line your eyes, but I also use it to apply eye shadow to my brows, thus defining them. The concealer one is super soft, it applies and blends concealer well enough, but I still prefer using my fingers or my Beauty Blender. The crease brush works to give you a blended out crease and also works great to blend shadows, it's also super soft. I've had these guys for about 4 months now and I've washed them plenty of times and they haven't shed one bit. You can find them at a Walgreens or on the internets! I really like these brushes and they are pretty gewd, considering you can find them at the drugstore.

Sorry about my eye looking all scary in this picture. I lined it with the Soho Eyeliner brush and as I said it works great! Also, I defined my eyebrows with it too!

Value and review:

The value of this month's Ipsy is: $30.85. It's a bit less than last month's but still pretty good!

In spite of the fact that this month's Ipsy isn't all make up, I still really enjoyed it. I didn't think I would get so excited about the nail polish and I ended up liking it a lot. I got to try a product I was dying to try(the argan oil) and some other products I wasn't even thinking about trying out. At the end of the day, that's what this sub is supposed to do, introduce us to new products to try out and fall for! I'm so glad I'm subscribed to this service, it's a great surprise to get in the mail every month. I've been subscribed for 3 months now and I can say that I'm satisfied, for sure! I'm not thinking of unsubscribing anytime soon and I hope they keep it up.

Small Dermstore Haul

This is long overdue! But I thought I'd post it anyways! When I got my Beauty Fix back in October, I got a gift card for $25 off a $50 order for completing 2 surveys! And I decided to take advantage of that promo and make a purchase on the Dermstore website.

Being a fan of value sets, because that's the best way to get the best bang for your buck. I picked 2 value sets from 2 different brands I wanted to try out. And what best way to try out several products from the same brand than a value set?

Here's what I got:

This set sells for $37 and the value of it -not including the brush since it's not sold separately- is $93! All the products are full size! I'll be making a review on this set soon!

This sampler sells for $20 and the value is $26.77...so not a lot of value there, bummer!
Dermstore - Lip Quench :  Got this as a freebie and it retails for $12.

Vichy - Liftactiv Serum 10: (3ml/.1fl oz) $5.2 x2. Got two of these as an extra freebie.

Total of the order: $57
What I paid: $32
Value of the order: $142.17

Oh, I forgot to mention, I got a 1 year free subscription for Self magazine and another for Women's health! Pretty gewd huh? Oh! Also, free shipping which is the one thing I love about Dermstore.

Disclaimer: I purchased this with my own money, and this is my own personal opinion :)

L'oreal TRENDsetter Nail Polish Collection!

I went to Walmart over the weekend to pick up some stuff the bf wanted, of course I sneaked off to the make up isle and spotted the new shades of L'oreal Colour Riche Nail TRENDsetter Collection. I fell in love! I want them all!

107 Royally Reinvented

108 New Money

109 Orange You Jealous

 110 Crazy For Chic

111 Not A Cloud In The Sky

112 Members Only

I personally think all of these are gorgeous! They retail for around $5.99, and you can find them at CVS, Walgreens,Target, K-mart, Walmart, RiteAid and likely any store that carries L'oreal Paris Products!

If I had to pick 3 out of these I would pick:
  • 107 Royally Reinvented
  • 111 Not A Cloud In The Sky
  •  109 Orange You Jealous
In that order.

Which top 3 would you pick?

NOTD: January 14th!

I'm in love with this color! I picked it up over the weekend as you can see in this post! And I just love it!!

This shade has WAY MORE green than it shows up, it has more green than it does blue, but for some reason no matter what settings I changed in my camera it wouldn't show the green. Either way gorgeous color!

I'm definitely in love with this shade! 2 coats do just fine, but I did 3 just in case! This dries REALLY fast so it's not too forgiving and you have to paint your nails quick! The finish is matte which is something I didn't know and wasn't expecting, but I actually like it quite a bunch. I didn't use any top coat, I have a matte top coat, but I don't know how durable it will be and honestly I didn't want to risk changing the look of this! I absolutely love this color! Super glad I picked it up!
